| Tips on How to Grow Rudbeckia from Seeds |
| Sow indoors: 8-10 weeks before last frost in individual pots and keep moist. Do not cover seeds as light in required for germination. Or Direct Sow after all danger of frost is past. Plant 2 seeds per foot. Germination is 14-21 days at 70-75ºF. Thin to 12-18 inches apart. GARDEN HINTS: Soak seed overnight for best germination. Rudbeckia germinates readily when the soil temperature is kept at 70-75ºF.. It does not appreciate transplanting and does best when sown (one-quarter inch deep) where it is to grow and bloom. If you transplant, do not mess with the roots and try to keep them from being disturbed in the transplant process. |
