Rutabaga Seeds

Rutabagas are quite high in nutritional value, easily grown and store well to stretch your vegetables sales into the winter months. It was commonly prepared in combination with other vegetables, and in the past, it was not a well-known vegetable or widely consumed in the USA. Rutabagas have a flavor much like a turnip, and can be used fresh or cooked. A New England and Canadian fall and winter favorite, rutabaga are easy to grow. Although it has a long maturity, rutabaga tolerates the cool weather as it matures for harvest in the late fall. Its flavor is mild and sweet, brightening fall and winter vegetable dishes, soups, and stews. Because rutabagas store so well, they make a great addition to winter markets.
