Spectacular blue striped flowers make Flying Saucers one of the most populat climbing vines. This Ipomoea has a growing vine up to 15' with leaves that are heart shaped and very large funnel shaped flowers with white tubes and the background of white with light blue swirled stripes or specks. Sow Morning Glory seeds early in the season and cover lightly with 1/4" of soil. Water thoroughly once. Thin or space plants to a final distance of 6" apart. They will tolerate a little crowding if there is ample supports for their vines to spread up and out. Keep soil at 70° F-germination is in 7-21 days. Could be sown direct after all danger of frost. Plant 6-8 seeds per foot, then thin to 12 inches apart. |

Once your Morning Glories are established, they should grow well, even if left unattended. Soil should be moist, but not wet. Water them during dry periods, once or twice per week. |

Morning Glory are half hardy annuals. They will often survive the first frost, especially if grown along the house or other buildings. Morning glories have very few problems with insects and disease. If insect or disease problems occur, treat early with organic or chemical insect repellents and fungicide. They will not survive a hard frost or freeze. |
