Tips on How to Grow Black Eyed Susan Vine

This popular vine will grow to 5 feet with eye catching intense orange color.

Sow indoors: 6-8 weeks before last frost in individual pots and keep moist.
Or Direct Sow after all danger of frost is past. Plant 2 seeds per foot.

Germination is 10-15 days at 70-75ºF.

Plant in a decorative container and provide something for it to climb on to, or plant in a hanging basket.
Use light fertile soil and they like full sun to partial shade. Keep moist and well drained.

Black eyed susan vine seed germinates readily when the soil temperature is kept at 72F. It does not appreciate transplanting and does best when sown (one-quarter inch deep) where it is to grow and bloom. If you transplant, do not mess about with the roots but try to keep them from being disturbed in the transplant process.
