This is a staple item for salad mix or can be used as a bunched green. Deeply serrated medium-dark green leaves on long white pencil- thin stalks. Vigorous and prolific for extended harvests. Slow to bolt; cold tolerant. Mild mustard flavor.

I can certainly say how valuable this addition is to any vegetable garden. They are easy to grow, nutritious, flavorful and surprisingly hardy. They can transform vegetable gardening from the normal to a new addition.

DIRECT SOW

  • From early spring, when the soil can be worked, direct sow the Mizuna seeds 1" apart, with a seed depth of ��.
  • Germination Soil Temperature: 40-55�F (4-13�)C.
  • Germination period is 6-10 days.
  • Sow indoors: Late fall through early spring.
  • Harvest tender young leaves, as older leaves have a very sharp taste.

  • Watering: Moderate and even.

  • Avoid following plants from the Cabbage family.
  • Good Companions: Bush bean, beet, carrot, celery, cucumber, dill, lettuce, mint, nasturtium, onion family, potato, rosemary, spinach and thyme.
  • Bad Companions: Pole bean and strawberry.
