Summer Jewell Red F1 Salvia Seeds
Salvia coccinea
NEW!
This Salvia may soon become an excellent choice for our Texas gardens. Summer Jewell Red
Salvia was rated superior because of its early and generous flower blossoms from spring to autumn.
Each dwarf and densely branched plant remains a tidy 20" tall even when it fully mature. With half-
inch bright red flower spikes makes it perfect for a bird lover's garden where the bright red color
is what acts like a magnet for hummingbirds as well as goldfinches swarm the plant for its seeds,
You can expect long season performance and superior holding in the rain and wind. This annual
is perfect for full sun containers, mixed beds and borders or paths where uniformity is desired.
Summer Jewell Red Salvia is a native plant that is content in any well drained soil receiving full
sun, however it is best when soil is fertile and the moisture is kept consistent. Butterflies will flock
to this Salvia s well. Blooms begin as soon as 50 days from seed. 30 Seeds Per Package.

How To Grow Salvia From Seeds
Salvia will generally blooms from July through October. A native from Texas and New Mexico does well in hot and humid climates.
- Salvia prefers well-drained soil that is slightly dry.
- Do not use fertilizer as too much fertilizer will promote a lot of foliage and no blooms!
- Planted best in groups or in borders.
- Deadhead spent flowers frequently to prolong blooming .
OUTDOORS:- In USDA zones 1-8, start indoors for growing as an annual.
- In USDA zones 8-10, sow seed directly outside in the place where you want it to grow as a perennial.
INSIDE: - Recommended in all but USDA zones 8-10.
- Sow 10-12 weeks before average last frost.
SPECIAL GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS:- Seed requires light to germinate.
- Press lightly into very moist soil only on the surface and keep moist, when watering indoors water from below, and if outdoors use a very fine spray as to not bury the fine seeds.
