Racer Radish Seeds
For Kids Who Garden,
Zoom! I'm Racer Radish and I have a zippy flavor that you'll love to add to summer salads.
I'm fun and easy to grow.
Is there a sunny spot in your yard or school garden? That's the place to plant my seeds. But
wait until the last danger of frost is over. Radish seeds don't like to freeze! Make sure the
soil is nice and soft. You can work it over with a shovel to soften it. Then, poke my radish
seeds about 1/4 of an inch deep into the ground. Sow the seeds about 1 inch apart. Don't forget
to water!
You'll be amazed at how quickly radishes grow. You'll see our leaves peeping up through the ground
in just a few days. When 3 weeks have passed, pull on our leaves and a radish will pop right out
of the ground, beautiful, round and red. When you harvest your radishes, give them a good wash
before eating. Yum!
Because radishes grow so quickly, you can plant more than one crop throughout the spring and
summer. Plant the second crop of radish seeds a couple of weeks after the first one, and then
you'll have more fresh radishes to enjoy for a longer time. Gardening kids love radishes!
Your Friend,
Racer Radish
