How to Grow Sweet Marjoram From Seeds
A delicate cousin of oregano but with a sweeter aroma. Can be used fresh or dried for meats, salads, soups and teas.
SOW INDOORS then TRANSPLANT
- 7-14 days to germinate with temperature of 70 F.
- Do not cover seeds, as they light for germination. Scatter seeds thinly on finely raked soil and press them into the soil surface
.
- Thin plants to 8-10 inches apart.
Marjoram likes well drained soil, perhaps even on the dry side, with plenty of sun.
Transplant when all danger of frost has passed. Space 6-8" apart.
Deer resistant. Zones are 5-10.
Marjoram is frost sensitive.
GARDEN HINTS: Classic culinary and ornamental herb.
