Flower Garden-Tips on Growing Larkspur from Seed
An excellent plant for the back of a flower bed or against a wall or fence. Spikes of dense white, blue and pink flowers are elegant for cut & dried flower arrangements. Flowers can be dried (see instructions inside packet.) Blooms in cool weather of spring and early summer, but can continue blooming through fall. Prefers a sunny but cool location. Considered one of the best flowers for cut and dried floral arrangements.
DIRECT SOW : RECOMMENDED. Sow in early spring as soon as soil can be worked.
- OR=When to start inside: Sow 6-8 weeks before last spring frost.
- Does not transplant well. Sow in peat pots then plant the peat pot directly into garden this is to minimize root shock.
- Special Germination Instructions: Requires darkness to germinate.
- Plant seeds at recommended depth of 1/4".
- Germination is 5-15 days.
- GARDEN HINTS: Prefers rich, moist, well-drained soil that is slightly alkaline.
