Tips on How to Grow Chrysanthemum From Seed
Large single chrysanthemums in mix of rose and crimson shades. Bushy plant that grow to 2-3 feet tall. Sow seeds in early spring; needs summer heat to perform well.
Direct Sow 2 weeks before last frost, or in mild climates sow seeds in fall for winter blooming. Cover seed lightly with fine soil and keep soil moist until emergence, thin when seedling have first true leaves. Space 6-8" apart. They do not transplant well.
GARDEN HINTS: Chrysanthemum seeds should be sown into the prepared soil where they are to bloom at least 2 months prior to the first frost. Seeds may also be started indoors in very early spring for later transplanting. The temperature of the rooting medium must be kept at a constant 70-75degrees. Germination can take from 8-25 days
