Chloe Cosmos Seeds

For Kids Who Garden,
Hi! I'm Chloe Cosmos, and if you like flowers you can play with, you'll want to plant my seeds in your garden. My pink petals are very special. They grow like little tubes, big enough to poke your pinky finger into! No other flower has petals quite like mine.

You'll get 100 cosmos seeds in my package. Just imagine how many flowers you can grow from 100 seeds. Pick a place that gets good sunlight for planting cosmos seeds. We need sun to grow. Sow the seeds in the ground when the last danger of frost is over in your town. Ask a grownup gardener when the frosty days are over. Don't forget to give seeds water after you plant them. We're thirsty!

Then the patient part of gardening comes in while you wait for our seeds to sprout and our young shoots to grow tall. We get very tall, up to 4 feet in height. You'll like the soft, ferny leaves of cosmos, and soon you'll be seeing round little flower buds on our stems. Then one warm day, those buds will burst open into beautiful cosmos flowers and you can be so proud of your gardening skill.

Each cosmos plant will get lots of flowers on it. To help your plants bloom, pinch off old brown flowers that have finished blooming. This will let new flowers take their place. You'll have months of beautiful flowers to enjoy and pick to make bouquets for your friends and family.

I can't think of anything I'd like better than to have my seeds planted by a smart gardening kid. We'll have lots of fun together this spring and summer.
