- Zone 8 -November 15th March 15th
- Zone 9 -December 15th February 15th
- Zone 10 -December 15th January 31st (sometimes earlier)

SOW INDOORS OR DIRECT SOW
- Indoors-8-10 weeks before average last day of frost.
- Seed requires light to germinate - press lightly into soil surface and do not cover, keep moist.
- Until the first true leaves appear, try not to water directly from overhead.
- Transplant outdoors after any danger of frost is past, or sow directly outside 2 weeks before last frost, For a showy planting, do groups of 3-4 seedlings.
- Outdoor Sowing: Sow the Carnation seeds early in the spring.
- Do make sure that the soil is not too wet.
- Space seedlings about12" apart.
- Germination period is 10-14 days at 70�F. You will find that carnation plants are very easy to grow.
They prefer full sun and a rich, well-drained soil. Water them during dry periods, once or twice per week. By adding a general purpose fertilizer once or twice a month you will ensure beautiful blooms.
