How To Grow Borage From Seeds
A quick growing 2 foot annual and cornflower blue shaped flowers. Borage also self sows generously.
Direct Sow Only: Sow seeds directly in the garden a week or so before the last frost. There is not much advantage in growing transplants, as Borage does not like to be moved.
For a steady harvest of the decorative and edible flowers and the edible leaves, sow small batches of seeds every four weeks.
How to Plant Borage Seeds: When planting seeds, be sure to cover the seeds as they need darkness to germinate. After the seedling have sprouted, thin to 1 foot apart.
Days to Germination: 5-8 days at 70F (21C).
Borage tolerates poor soil and does well in any porous soil that is moderately well supplied with water.
