Enjoy fresh green foliage that is topped with beautiful thick, long white plumes. that will grow to 12 feet or more by the 3rd year.  Cortaderia selloana Pampas Grass is a low-maintenance feather duster that will grow from late summer and throughout the fall.  To obtain good growth and plume production, pampas grass should be fertilized with a complete fertilizer (6-6-6, 8-8-8 or 10-10-10) at a rate of two pounds per 100 square feet four times each year.There is no need to spray for insects or any other bothersome garden pest. It will grow in most soils and responds favorably to frequent fertilization. Care for should include cutting out the brown, dead foliage,. Winter Hardy to zone 7. Any zone below 7 this grass will not over winter. Cannot ship to CA and HI. 250 Seeds per Package.

How To Grow White Pampas Grass From Seeds
  • Start the seeds indoors, using a pre-moistened seed starting medium, place the seeds on top of the soil and gently press the seeds in. 

  • Keep the seeds moist until germination occurs. Germination will take about 14-35 days. Needs light to germinate, So do not completely cover as you press into the soil.

  • You will need to transplant into larger pots as they grow and before they are introduced to the outdoors.

  • Some gardeners start the Pampas Grass seeds directly outside in the spring and after all dangers of any frost has passed. Prepare your seedbed, and press the seeds into the soil that has been worked into a fine tilth. Germination will take about 14-35 days. Needs light to germinate, So do not completely cover as you press into the soil.Keep the grass seeds moist. and throughout the first growing season, water the grass with regularity. In the following years  Pampas Grass will be drought tolerant and the plumes will not form until the plant is 2-3 years of age.
