Product Description

Achillea filipendula

  | 2500 Seeds|

Achillea filipendula 'Parker's Yellow' -  Parkers Cloth of Gold Yarrow Seeds has vibrant, long-lasting blooms and fragrant silvery foliage. Cloth of Gold is an easy to grow plant which tolerates a fair amount of neglect which makes it a very versatile plant for use in many situations. It does require full sun for best flower production, but this is little to ask for such a grand reward.  The flowers are arranged in corymbs, the flat-topped flower clusters are surprisingly rigid, almost hard. Its flowers attract many beneficial insects, including ladybirds and parasitic wasps that prey on garden pests, in particular aphids. Ants do not like the smell; crushed leaves can be used as a deterrent.Blooming from mid to late summer, the flowers are of rich 'old gold' yellow color, and are very large, often 5in or more across. Achillea will attract many species of pollinating insects to your garden during the summer and certain species of birds will also use it to line their nests. An added bonus is it is both deer and rabbit resistant. The Royal Horticultural Society gave Achillea filipendulina ‘Cloth of Gold’ the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) in 1999.  Height 18-24 inches, spread 18-24 inches  Hardiness zones  4-8.

2500 Seeds per Package.

How To Grow Yarrow From Seeds
  • Sow Yarrow seeds indoors 4 - 6 weeks prior to last spring frost.

  • Sow seeds  in small containers or starter trays using quality seed starting mix..
  • Press the seeds into the mix but do not cover seeds -- light is helpful for germination. Moisten mix and keep moist until germination begins. Germination takes 7-20 days at 65-72°F.

  • Grow seedlings for 3-5 weeks at 70-72°F in full light.
  • Transplant outdoors after frost danger has passed spacing them 10 inches apart. OR
  • Yarrow seeds can be sown directly outdoors as well. Prepare a seedbed of loosened soil that is weed free.
  • Once frost danger has passed, sow the  seed into the seedbed, pressing the seeds in tightly. Keep moist until germination.
