Miss Butterfly has fragrant light violet color spikes, with silver-blue leaves. Very easy to grow from seed. Each flowering stem will nearly reach a foot long in a pointed upward form. Butterflies will flock to these blooms. Blooms will begin opening in mid-summer in most climates or zones. One great hint is to cut often, as the more you cut the more you will have. Miss Butterfly will reach nearly 7 feet in heighth with a 5 feet spread at maturity.If you want a bushier, fuller form- and to also promote heavy flowering, cut this bush down to about 6 inches above the ground in late winter but before any new growth has a chance to start. Don't worry about such a severe prune, as it will pop right back up when the warm spring weather arrives.Butterfly Bush is a fantastically hardy sun-lover, able to withstand adversity of all kinds.They are impervious to heat, humidity, and (once established) even drought. Butterflies and bees flock to them, as Buddleias emit a special hony-scented fragrance that lures butterflies like a moth to light, and once the butterflies are on the bloom, they find the flowers super rich in nectar. Zones 5-9.In colder zones they will die to the groung each year like perennial plants, and if kept with moisture and not too many hard freezes you will see them again the the next spring.
