-Item #V-3080 | 300 Seeds

30-35 days to Maturity

An unique radish of Chinese origin, called the Shin-ri-mei, (Beauty in the Heart) which is a 4-6" large round root vegetable that is related to the turnip and horseradish families. Grows from green to white.  Misato Rose Watermelon Radish has a crisp texture and a mild to sweet peppery flavor. It is unlike any other radishes as the intensity of this radish decreases as it matures. Usually the flesh of this radish is hotter toward the outside and sweeter in the center. Displays a white outer skin at the top that has green shoulders and a pink base that covers a bright red to magenta inner flesh. Use this radish for spring harvest only, as it will go to flower or seed and fail to form round radishes in warm weather. The flavor and texture of 'Misato Rose Watermelon Radish' is sweet and turnip-like, with a mild radish finish. Makes a fantastic ingredient for kim chi, is beautiful when shredded with cole slaw and carrot, or sliced and slivered into winter salads, on can pickled as well. Organically Grown. 300 Seeds Per Package.

Vegetable Garden – Tips on Growing Radishes From Seeds

Growing radishes are easy to grow key factor is to grow them fast and harvest them fast. Radishes are sensitive to any changes in their growth. They want cool, moist soil with organic matter, with a pH of about 6.5 and an available supply of nutrients. Radishes are at their best for a short time; as if they are left in the ground longer than they should be, they will be bitter and a pithy texture.
