Black Lentils have a crispiness to them and taste like fresh nuts. All Lentil Sprouts have tons of green protein that will benefit you fully, as they may be eaten raw in many different dishes. Just remember is to let the sprouts grow until the white tip is .0394 inches to .7874 inches long for the natural lectins to be completed neutralized. You can eat the whole sprout that includes the black hull, after you rinse the sprouts. The seed hull should if possible stay on the lentil during cultivation to protect the sprout from separating. When the sprouts are ready to be eaten after 2-3 days of sprouting the hulls often fall of during the last rinse.The lentil is white with a brown shade under the hull. Our Lentils come from sources which are certified organic.
