Rudbeckia Seeds
This showy garden plant, yellow with dark eyes, brightens up summer and fall borders. Rudbeckia is descended from wild plants native to the Eastern U.S. Tough and easy to grow, they make excellent cut flowers; cutting also encourages re-bloom late in the season. Start indoors about 10 weeks before last spring frost.
How to Grow Rudbeckia
SOW INDOORS OR DIRECT SOW.
Sow indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Do not cover seed. Transplant outdoors after any danger of frost is past, or sow directly outside 2 weeks before last frost, in groups of 3-4 seeds, thin to 12-18". Germination period is 14-21 days at 70ºF
.
GARDEN HINTS: Full sun, average well drained soil. Harvest blooms when they are completely open.
