How to Grow Radishes
Radishes are very sensitive to any interruptions in their growth. Above all, do not allow the soil to dry out. They thrive in cool, moist soil with a lot of organic matter, a pH of about 6.5 and a readily available source of nutrients. Radishes do well where leaves have been worked into the soil the previous fall. If radishes are left in the ground too long, they develop a sharp taste and pithy texture. Harvest the whole crop when it matures and store the roots in the refrigerator.
