Nasturtium Nancy Seeds
For Kids Who Garden,
Hello, friends! I'm Nasturtium Nancy, and gardening kids think I'm the most cheerful flower
they can plant. Nasturtiums are also super easy to grow, Just wait until the last danger of
frost has passed, and poke my seeds in the ground in a spot that gets at least some sushine.
Don't forget to water.
Nasturtiums don't like rich soils, so no need to add fertilizer. Just plant us and let us
grow wherever you want bright color in the garden or at school. We come in yellow, pink,
orange and all kinds of reds. Each flower is like a little surprise. Our leaves are round
and emerald green with a little white spot in the middle of each leaf. So pretty!
One thing that you may not know about nasturtiums is that you can plant nasturtium seeds
in the vegetable garden, because our flowers are edible. That means you can eat them! They
have a fresh, spicy taste and tossing a few petals into a salad perks up your meal. Your
whole family can enjoy this special treat, and you can be so proud that you grew nasturtiums
all by yourself!
Your Friend,
Nasturtium Nancy
