Four O'Clocks Seeds

Four O'Clocks acquired their name as it opens in mid-afternoon. It remains open overnight, and closes in early morning. They will also remain open on cloudy days. They are noted for their strong, pleasant fragrance.

Native to tropical areas of North and South America. They are also called "Marvel of Peru". Four O'Clocks are actually perennials that are grown as annuals in the U.S.

The bushy plants make attractive hedge or border. Flower colors include white, red, pink, yellow, and some two-toned blooms.

Tips on How to Grow Four O'Clocks

70-80 Days to Flower

Special reselected mix with fragrant trumpet flowers that open up in late afternoon.This all time favorite has been enjoyed by many generations. A single plant will have several color combinations, in colors of white, yellow, pink, and bi-color.

SOW INDOORS:

4-6 weeks before the last frost. Cover lightly. Germination is 10-12 days.

DIRECT SOW:

Sow seeds directly into the garden just before the last frost in your area. Cover seeds with 1/4" of soil. Space plants 12 inches apart and thin to two feet apart in place outdoors after all danger of frost, Space plant 12-16" apart.

GARDEN HINTS:

These have hard seeds, so to encourage faster germination, either nick the seeds coating or soak them overnight in water before planting. Full to partial shade, in any type of soil can be used. Blooms well in hot weather.
