McKana's Giant Mix Columbine Seeds (Aquilegia)
This attractive buttercup-shaped flower will reach well above its blue-green
foliage to a height of 14-16". The high nectar in the flowers makes Columbine
highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Hardiness Zones 3-8. Package
(50 seeds).
SOW INDOORS OR DIRECT SOW
Sow indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Do not cover seed. Transplant outdoors as soon as soil can be worked, or sow directly outside 2 weeks before last frost, in groups of 3-4 seeds, thin to 12-18". Germination period is 14-21 days at 70ºF.
GARDEN HINTS: Full sun, average well drained soil. Columbines have long tap roots and should be transplanted when young. Pre chill the seed to help germination.
