How to Grow Amaranthus Seeds
SOW INDOORS or DIRECT SOW when all danger of frost is past.Indoors-4-6 weeks before last frost. Lightly cover seed 1/4" deep
with soil, and make sure seedling has plenty of light and protect from cold. Outdoors-Sow thinly after last frost. Full sun in average, well drained soil. Space 12-15", support is advised. Growing On: 62-65°F until transplanting. Light/Soil: Full sun in average, well-drained soil. Spacing: 12-15". Support advised. Use: Fresh or dried, back of bed, accent in borders, containers. Harvest: Fresh - at least 3/4 of the flowers on the inflorescence are open. Dried - seed has begun to set and flowers feel firm; hang. Rich soils may result in less brightly colored foliage. Prefers warm, dry locations; will not tolerate wet soils. Tolerates drought.
Germination is 10-14 days at 70-75ºF. Spacing 10-14" apart.
